About

Born and raised in Manchester, James attended Rochdale Art College, then Wolverhampton University to study Fine Art. Donning his rucksack he backpacked around Europe and the Middle East, returning determined to pursue a career in photography. James started working at a high profile fashion studio in the city centre and as a freelancer he worked for Factory Records, Vidal Sassoon, and the Hacienda.

 

 

He moved to London in the Nineties to seek magazine work, and has since enjoyed a successful career travelling worldwide on editorial and commercial photo shoots. He has appeared on BBC's Clothes Show, Next Top Model UK and has presented a workshop on photography for ITV's Masterclass series.

 

With London as his work base, James now lives with his wife and two children near the South Downs. Outside photography and family, his main passions are music, his '68 Triumph Bonneville and all his other motorbikes, Pop Art, driving his mini, any b&w British (kitchen sink) movie, Italian food and laughter!
